Equality for Women and Girls

Girl Rising (GR) is a non-profit dedicated to increasing girls’ education and empowerment globally. Based on the belief that every girl is entitled to education and equal rights, Girl Rising uses storytelling as a transformative tool, and has programs in India, Northern Nigeria, the United States, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Middle East. In each program region, GR collaborates with local partners using techniques such as social media campaigns, community based programming, advocacy and classroom educational tools to benefit girls worldwide.

Starting in 2018, Girl Rising is launching a new campaign  in Guatemala, to increase quality education for girls and to underscore education’s value as a strategy to prevent child marriage, adolescent pregnancy and sexual violence.
