1. Train and support young leaders to advance adolescent sexual and reproductive health
Young people can be powerful messengers and advocates for change, if provided with appropriate support and opportunities. Therefore, we support:
- Programs to train young leaders in our four focus countries (Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico) so that they can influence the development and implementation of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health policies and services in their communities and countries.
- Organizations that train and engage young leaders in the United States to advance adolescent sexual and reproductive health internationally through U.S. foreign policy and foreign aid.
- On a limited basis, unique and highly leveraged opportunities to influence global adolescent sexual and reproductive health policies by supporting young leaders.

2. Strengthen efforts to improve U.S. foreign policy around adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
To ensure that comprehensive adolescent sexual and reproductive health is advanced through U.S. foreign policy, we support:
- Organizations that work with U.S. policymakers to design and implement science-based, effective adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs;
- Efforts to include positive attention to youth and their sexual and reproductive health needs in foreign aid; and
- Programs to expand and sustain grassroots support, particularly among young people, for international adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

3. Foster innovative approaches to adolescent sexual and reproductive health on the ground.
In our four focus countries (Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and the state of Quintana Roo, México), we support innovative programs and pilot efforts to move adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs and policies forward in creative and sustainable ways. Specifically, we support:
- Efforts to advance youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health policies at the organizational, community and national levels;
- Training health care providers in youth-friendly services; and
- The creative provision of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information to young people and those around them, in order to influence behavior and lay the foundation for long-term social change.
